Terms of Use & Legal Information
Welcome to the Syracuse Recreation & Rescue website.
By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. These terms are intended to explain the nature of the website, SRR’s current organizational status, and reasonable expectations for visitors using our content and services.
About Syracuse Recreation & Rescue
Syracuse Recreation & Rescue is currently a developing and unincorporated project working toward a formal organizational structure.
The website presents SRR’s mission, programs, proposals, events, partnerships and future vision. Some programs, services, facilities, partnerships and operating models described on this website remain under development and may change as SRR progresses.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a representation that a contemplated legal entity, facility, partnership, program, license, contract or service currently exists unless specifically identified as current.
Organizational Status & Fiscal Sponsorship
SRR is not currently represented on this website as an independently recognized tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Where specifically identified, charitable fundraising or contributions connected with SRR activities may be administered through an independent fiscal sponsor.
In those circumstances, charitable contributions are made to and processed through the identified fiscal sponsor in accordance with its policies and the applicable fiscal-sponsorship arrangement.
Whether a contribution is eligible for a charitable tax deduction depends on the organization receiving the contribution, applicable law, and the circumstances of the contribution. The IRS generally permits deductions for qualifying contributions made to qualified organizations.
Visitors should refer to the specific donation or event page for information about the organization receiving and processing a particular contribution.
Prospective Plans and Statements
SRR is a developing project.
Statements regarding proposed facilities, animal capacity, service models, veterinary programs, recreation offerings, costs, funding, partnerships, staffing, timelines, adoption outcomes or other future activities represent goals, concepts, estimates or proposals unless expressly identified otherwise.
They are not guarantees of future performance.
SRR may modify, expand, delay, relocate, replace or discontinue contemplated programs as circumstances, partnerships, funding, regulatory requirements and community needs evolve.
Historical Materials
The website may provide access to historical presentations, proposals or planning materials, including SRR’s original 2024 vision document.
Historical materials are provided to document the development of the SRR concept. Locations, timelines, financial assumptions, proposed capacity, partnerships and operating models contained in older materials may no longer reflect current plans.
Visitors should rely on current website content for the most recent public description of the project.
Events and Participation
Information regarding events is subject to change, including dates, times, locations, participating organizations, activities and availability.
Registration for an event may be administered through an independent third-party platform.
Participation in certain recreational or physical activities may also be subject to separate registration terms, rules, waivers, releases, acknowledgments or eligibility requirements.
These Terms of Use do not replace any event-specific waiver, release or participation agreement.
Donations and Payments
Donation, registration and sponsorship transactions may be processed through third-party platforms or fiscal sponsors.
The terms, refund policies, privacy practices and transaction requirements of those providers may also apply.
Nothing on a general SRR webpage should be interpreted as a representation that every payment made in connection with SRR is tax deductible.
Third-Party Organizations and Links
SRR’s mission depends heavily on collaboration, and this website may reference businesses, government entities, nonprofit organizations, service providers, venues, sponsors, fiscal sponsors and other third parties.
A reference to an organization does not necessarily indicate an endorsement, formal partnership, sponsorship or contractual relationship unless the website specifically says otherwise.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. SRR does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, terms or privacy practices of independent third-party websites.
Website Content and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, original SRR website copy, branding, graphics, designs and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Visitors may view and share links to publicly available SRR webpages for personal, informational and noncommercial purposes.
SRR materials may not be reproduced, republished, sold, materially altered, or used to imply an affiliation or endorsement without appropriate permission.
Third-party trademarks, photographs, logos and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Acceptable Use
Visitors may not use the website to:
- interfere with its operation or security;
- attempt unauthorized access to systems or information;
- distribute malware or harmful code;
- impersonate SRR or another person or organization;
- misuse forms or communication channels;
- infringe the rights of others; or

Information, Not Professional Advice
Website content is provided for general informational purposes.
Nothing on this website constitutes legal, tax, financial, veterinary, medical or other professional advice.
Questions involving professional services should be directed to an appropriately qualified professional.
No Guarantee of Availability
SRR works to keep website information useful and current but cannot guarantee that every page, link, event, service, feature or third-party resource will always be available, complete or error-free.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, SRR is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on outdated prospective information, interruption of the website, or the acts, omissions, privacy practices or services of independent third-party providers.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be waived.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be revised as SRR’s programs and organizational structure develop.
Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another law necessarily applies.
